Dear Visitor,

Welcome to the Work Performance Programme Website. I'm very pleased you've chosen to visit the site today and I hope that you find some information here that will be of help to you and your business.

The Work Performance Programme is a series of services I have developed over the last few years out of my passion to help people get back to work after injuries such as back pain.

Having worked in this field have many years now, it frustrates me that there aren't more services that can assist companies, to help their employees get back to work as fast as possible, bringing the best outcome for all concerned. So as result, I've been working hard to find a solution that can be affordable, cost-effective, timely and a positive experience for the company and the employee.

At the risk of getting on my soapbox, sometimes sickness absence is regarded as one of the biggest headaches that an HR manager or health and safety officer or line manager has to deal with, especially when they can't be sure whether their employee is genuinely ill. In my experience there are very few people who don't want to be at work, we all need work to pay the bills, keep our families and give us some self respect and esteem, so often the problems are ones of misunderstandings and poor communication, and these services aim to address those issues directly.

The truth is there are many simple things that can help but you may not be aware of these as you are understandably busy with so many aspects of your work. Well, the aim of this website and these services is to be objective, honest and open so that through a joint approach we can improve employee's health, return them  to work and save money in the business.

I will be providing you with regular newsletters (about 4 per year) if you sign up to receive them, and you will find a series of special articles giving you access to the tools and ideas that the latest evidence shows works.

In the current political climate and the recent publications and policies of the UK government,  we all know how huge the cost of sickness absence is.  I hope to just contribute a little bit to the debate, and help make your life a little bit easier.  I look forward to hearing your comments and discussions in the future.

With best wishes,

Heather
