Dear Heather, I write in response to your request for feedback on the service Physioways (now called Work Performance Ltd, 2009) has provided for our company in recent months. As you are aware I consider the wellbeing of my staff to be a main priority within this business. Any business is only as good as the people it employs and their welfare can be linked to productivity, quality and profitability. Staff who feel cared for will always go the extra mile and be reticent to take time off. We have used for some time alternative therapy within the business as a method of demonstrating our commitment to our employees and a way of combatting stress within the workplace. However, like many employers we have employees who have genuine injuries and ailments that cannot be cured by alternative therapy. To date six of our staff have been referred to you for various problems. One of those individuals has suffered severe pain for many years and has not had successful treatment through the NHS. I have e-mailed all of them for a written comment on your services. The responses are all positive from two angles. Firstly, they are all pleased with the treatment and feel it has been very beneficial. The individual with the long term complaint has stated that you are the first professional that has correctly diagnosed his complaint and has been able to provide genuine improvement in terms of pain relief, and mobility. The second benefit is that they have all expressed their gratitude to the company for providing this service for them and showing care for their problem. With this in mind I believe that we are all winners, the employee, the employer and the service provider. On this basis I am happy to recommend Physioways (Work Performance) and I can assure you that we will continue to use your highly professional services. Yours sincerely,
Peter Roberts (2006-7)
"Worthwhile reports and we have already used the service again. The guidance on tasks, employee's abilities and time scales for return to work is the most valuable part. This is what we were looking for in the report and why we have used the service again." Andrew Varney, Site Manager, Exchem Explosives Uk Plc. 2007
"Very good service and very work related reports. They didn't include a lot of terminology that was unhelpful such as muscle strength test results. Informative on sleep and work issues (NB sleep was a factor in the absence). The staged information in the rehabilitation plan (Workplace Action Plan) was helpful. We would like to use the service more and will probably use it most for people with repeated absences." Rose Thacker, Senior OH Nurse, Derbyshire Constabulary 2008
"The Assessment reports were all very useful both to the company and to the OH nurse, with the return to work plan being especially helpful. The Fitness for work guidance was useful and we followed all the advice and timescales and got the employee back to work and he has not had any time off since, and he has now taken up kayaking! A great service which we can't fault in any way. As we pay drivers (this was an HGV driver) off sick full pay we wish we had come here sooner and got him back to work even quicker. We will use the service again." Tony Hollins, Manager, Exchem Explosives Uk Plc. 2008 *This refers to another employee distinct from the earlier Exchem comment. How to Get Your Employees Back to Work Faster Seminar "A very worthwhile way to spend half a day. The seminar was full of little nuggets and gems about how to assist in getting staff back to work after sickness and certainly focused the mind on the amount of money which companies can lose if this is not managed actively." John Williamson, Director, Amberol Ltd 2009
"I thought it was a very good seminar and enjoyable. I think that other companies who do not have absence managment systems, polciies and processes already in place would find real benefit from attending." Margaret Miller, Attendance Managment Officer / HR Caseworker, Derbyshire Constabulary 2009
